Where do I even begin with Darek + Kristin?? They are such an extraordinarily fun and adventurous duo, who aren’t ashamed to be deeply and madly in love.
Darek reached out to me inquiring about an adventure session at the iconic Valley of Fire. Their family had never been there before and always wanted to visit, so to celebrate their first wedding anniversary, they felt it was the perfect place!
From the drive in, to our first trail, they were both immediately captivated by the desert views. Who isn’t?? Because they are so curious and love spending time together in the outdoors, they quickly started climbing rocks and admiring the formations, dress clothes and all!
We started their session at a slot canyon. They wanted to dress up in wedding attire because they never really got the wedding photos they wanted on their actual wedding day. This is a common thing I hear with couples. It’s unfortunate, but it happens.
As a side point/plug: If you are currently planning to get married, no matter big or small, hire a professional photographer! You certainly won’t regret it if you do, but there’s a good chance you will if you don’t. That is all!
As part of their celebration, they felt it only made sense to include their baby boy. He was a total ham and did so well in front of the camera! They even dressed him in a shirt that had “tattoo” sleeves (because Darek is a tattoo artist). Everything about their session was so intentional and thought out.
Later, we visited an overlook and switched gears for a more casual feel. Darek + Kristin couldn’t keep their eyes or hands off of each other. It was incredibly sweet and refreshing to see how much love they share.
They watched the sunset together and played with their little one some more until it was time to go. We ended the evening with some headlight photos and an incredible, evening moon.
