How to Plan Your Elopement

You are probably one of the only people you know to be considering eloping with your significant other. More than likely you’ve come to this conclusion because you have both realized that a big wedding isn’t for you, and you know what? That’s OK!

While large, traditional weddings can be beautiful, eloping can be liberating and refreshingly intimate. There is a common misconception that if you choose to elope, you are missing out on the true “wedding experience.” That couldn’t be further from the truth.

While it is true that eloping is very minimalist, it doesn’t mean that your day will have any less intention, planning, and coordination. I realize that because elopements and intimate weddings are not as common, you may be feeling overwhelmed. That’s what I’m here for! I am here as a friend and a guide to make your vision a reality.

Adventure elopements look different for everyone! You could…

• Hike to an alpine lake in the mountains and exchange vows on the shore at sunset

• Fly to a new city and stay at a unique Airbnb. Then explore the local architecture, culture, and food together

• Off-road in the desert and cruise over sand dunes, then stop at an incredible spot along the way

• Explore a tide-pool on the coast, then go on a cozy coffee date or a boat ride

• Visit a National Park that’s been on your bucket list and exchange vows at sunrise

• Relax in a hot spring, go on a wildlife tour, visit a botanical garden - and create the wedding experience of your dreams!

THE PROCESS

You might be wondering if you have been going about the planning process the right way, but there are no set rules to planning your elopement or intimate wedding. At this stage, everything does not need to be locked in place. In fact, a little flexibility might be a good thing.

That being said, the most important thing is how do you want to remember your day? How do you want it to feel? How would you describe it? Even if you are unsure, you don’t have to have it all figured out right now. I am here to help! Here’s a look at my process…
