Nevada is home to many unique and draw-dropping landscapes. Being a Las Vegas local, I not only get to enjoy beauty in my own backyard, but just a few hours away, there is an overwhelming amount of locations to choose from for an elopement. The desert never ceases to amaze me. While I am drawn to lush, green landscapes, I have to admit that the desert offers such a wide variety of interesting and breathtaking views. This particular location in northern Nevada I have seen glimpses of in the past, but I finally decided to take the time to do some research about it. I was immediately drawn to it because it felt otherworldly, like we had just landed on Mars. When I suggested this place to Maurice and Erica, they were immediately on board.
Prior to arriving at the park, we made a stop at a nearby reservoir for their first look. It was the perfect backdrop to capture this moment. It was a bright, sunny day and cool weather.
We continued the drive and upon arrival at the park, we were awestruck. I had never seen rock formations like this before. My first thought was, “We’ve just landed on another planet!” While the area is small, it hosts several slot canyons and has a beautiful overlook. After wandering and exploring the area for a bit, we arrived at the perfect spot for them to exchange their vows. Shortly thereafter, wedding dress and all, Erica and Maurice were down to do some hiking to capture the stunning view.
Maurice and Erica were so cute to watch. He kept snapping photos on his phone of his beautiful wife. I couldn’t help but snap some photos myself as I observed them together. Seeing couples in their element like that makes me feel so special. Of all the people in the world, I got to be present for such an important occasion in a person’s life.
There is so much in store for me and my business going into 2022, and I cannot wait to share it!
