My husband and I have a goal to visit all of the islands of Hawai’i that we can. We have already been to Oahu, and next up on the list was Kauai! Friends of ours currently live there, and they were sweet enough to give us their adorable studio to stay in during our travels. It couldn’t have been better timing because we planned on being there during the week of our third anniversary. We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take some photos in the Garden Island, so we all set off on our first day there to a secret place our hosts showed us. We hiked to her favorite spot, and it was exactly what I had hoped for!

Our friends turned out to be way more adventurous than I had expected. I think two of the four of us slipped on river rock, through a stream on the way to there. We all trekked through the marsh, dirt, water, and rock in our flip-flops. That definitely made things more interesting. After that we finished up at the trail, we made our way to the famous Hanalei Bay to end the session at sunset.

We couldn’t have asked for more…
